Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos on the cover of Dazed's New Idols issue

Rockstar Games put Grand Theft Auto VI protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos on the cover of Dazed‘s autumn 2026 New Idols issue on August 26. It is the first print appearance for either character anywhere, and the first time video game characters have fronted a mainstream fashion magazine. The exclusive also includes Rockstar’s first on-record interview about GTA 6 and a set of new official screenshots styled like a fashion editorial.

What the cover shows

The shoot reads like a lookbook, not a game trailer. Jason wears Nola on the cover with a Ferruccio Tucci watch, while Lucia wears clothes and glasses by Stock 305. In another portrait Jason is in an archive jacket, Nola glasses, a This/That top and custom Caliber jewellery. Those labels belong to the fashion economy Rockstar built for Leonida, the game’s fictional take on Florida. The full set of seven images also brings in Vice City fixture Boobie Ike, plus Bae-Luxe, Roxy and Raul Bautista.

Who are Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos?

Straight from Rockstar’s interview with Dazed: Jason Duval is an ex-military man turned drug runner, and Lucia Caminos is a fighter fresh out of prison. Their story is a Bonnie and Clyde-type romance, and Rockstar says the relationship sits at the emotional center of the game, deeper than anything a GTA title has tried before. Your choices change how the two treat each other. Both characters are playable, and you can switch between them mid police chase or run solo as either one. Jason Duval is a name fans will be saying a lot between now and launch.

The shirtless Jason Duval scene that went viral

The second GTA 6 trailer gave the internet one moment it could not stop talking about: Jason shirtless, fixing his roof. Kotaku covered it, Know Your Meme documented it, and the clip became one of the most-shared scenes from the trailer. The Dazed feature also confirms the system behind all those jokes. Eating too much puts weight on Jason and Lucia, working out builds muscle, and skipping sleep, getting chased by cops or partying for days shows up on their faces. Rockstar built a fitness system into the game, and the internet noticed.

What’s next for GTA 6

The cover lands one day before the Netflix Extended Look, which premieres August 27 and gives the characters their first on-screen moments since the trailers. GTA 6 launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The Dazed shoot doubles as world-building, introducing an in-game fashion economy and a wider cast months before release. It is the kind of creative marketing push Take-Two Interactive has promised for its biggest launch yet.
